The NLA on Tuesday voted 149 to three to approve the draft of the revised criminal procedure code. The amendment allows the court to dismiss a case in which the plaintiff has initiated an ill intentioned lawsuit or has distorted information. The amendment is also applicable in a case in which the plaintiff has intentionally disobeyed the court’s order in a closed criminal case.
The revised criminal procedure code prevents fugitives and those who have disobeyed the court’s order from bringing a lawsuit to the court against other people if not warranted.
Member of an NLA committee responsible for the amendment of the criminal code of procedure, Mahannop Techawithak said today a plaintiff who does not respect the justice system deserves no right to be protected by it.
