In a statement, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III said thousands of jobs available in the one-day job fair are not only for local applicants but also for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

“Jobseekers, particularly workers who have returned from overseas employment as well as graduating students, are called to take advantage of the job opportunities under the job caravan,” Bello said, adding that many jobs will be available as the government boosts its infrastructure spending under the Duterte administration

Among the jobs set to be offered are in the fields of building, construction, architecture, and engineering.

Meanwhile, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar said multiple participants from the construction sector are expected to join the event.

“We invited employers and contractors from the DPWH, Department of Transportation, and Bases Conversion and Development Authority who handle ‘Build, Build, Build’ projects. Representatives from the DOLE, the Department of Finance, Department of Budget and Management and National Economic and Development Authority will also be present,” he said in a separate statement.
