He gave the advice to Khairul Amri Ulul Azmi, 33, who is an amputee, when sentencing him to three years jail after Khairul Amri pleaded guilty to breaking into a house and stealing last month.
Azman ordered Khairul Amri, who lost his right leg in a motorcycle accident, to start serving the sentence from the date of arrest on April 2.
"We pity you but we have to take into account the interest of the public. I hope during these three years you can improve yourself and come out as a better person," Azman said in his judgment.
Khairul Amri pleaded guilty to breaking into a house of one Zahirah Othman, 56, in Kampung Telok Manis Layang-Layang Kiri, Parit, between midnight and 3 am on March 24 and stealing RM520 cash, a Casio wrist watch, three gold necklaces, three gold rings and a mobile phone valued at about RM10,000.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Afiqah Izzati Mazlan appeared for the prosecution while Khairul Amri was unrepresented.
